Brow Bandit
From service provider to beauty brand
The Challenge
When NoHo’s most fab, impossible-to-book-into lamination expert Brow Bandit came to us, she was ready to make the leap from service provider to product entrepreneur. Owner Aisha’s calendar was fully booked months in advance, and after a decade of practicing her craft, she was ready to have some more free time to spend with her husband Furhan and their two daughters. With an incredible product formulation which her clients had been loving for years, Aisha knew that the time was now to get it packaged and out to a wider audience.
At the same time, and having recently moving to a shiny new space that she had poured her heart and soul into renovating, Aisha was starting to reevaluate her website. Hosted on Squarespace, DIYed and packed with a smattering of retail items, it was obvious to Aisha that it wasn’t measuring up to her high standards (aesthetics being the core foundation of her work as a brow artist)…she just couldn’t quite put her finger on exactly what needed to be changed.
Our Approach
Alcove Studio came on board with the task of refreshing Brow Bandit’s brand identity and apply the new look across a new product packaging design, a migration to Shopify for e-commerce and her physical studio offerings, and on Instagram.
We combined Aisha’s preference for minimalism with her desire to stand out from the crowd in a stunning black backdrop across the site – unusual for ecom – and a neutral yet bold palette celebrating the diversity of her many melinated clients and Brow Bandit’s Brown-owned business identity.
With her signature brow oil in production, we prepared a package (exterior box and interior bottle) which set a luxurious tone for a product which Aisha hopes one day to see on the shelves of Sephora, and which is formatted for easy revisions when she’s ready to extend the product line.
